From News Center (Text by Yang Lili, Student Affairs Department (Office) of the CPC LZPU Committee; Photo by Chen Meilin, Sunshine Psychology Association) To showcase the outcomes of student exchanges with Hanoi College of Electromechanics (HCEM) in Vietnam, stimulate enthusiasm for international exchange, and enhance students' understanding of and interest in global engagement, the Student Affairs Department (Office) of the CPC LZPU Committee, in collaboration with the International Exchange Department (School of International Education), held a sharing session titled "Youth Across Borders: China-Vietnam Friendship and Exchange Reflections" on December 19, 2025, at the Guantang Campus. Zeng Zhi, Deputy Director of the Student Affairs Department (Office) of the CPC LZPU Committee; Wu Zhaohui, Deputy Director of the International Exchange Department (Hong Kong, Macao and Taiwan Affairs Office); several student representatives who participated in the Vietnam exchange program; and more than 100 representatives from students enrolled in 2025 attended the event. The session was hosted by Huang Yuanhui, a student representative from the School of Arts who took part in the Vietnam exchange program.

To deepen bilateral cooperation and broaden students' global perspectives, LZPU organized a seven-day exchange program in mid-to-late November this year, sending students to HCEM. During the program, students attended local classes to experience distinctive teaching models, visited advanced training facilities, and gained firsthand exposure to Vietnam's long and rich history and culture, vibrant folk traditions, and diverse culinary heritage. The experience proved highly rewarding and left participants with lasting impressions.

At the beginning of the sharing session, a well-produced video montage led the faculty and students present at the site in revisiting memorable moments from the exchange delegation's cultural exchange activities at HCEM. Student representatives then took the stage one by one to share their observations and reflections during their stay in Vietnam, drawing on their personal experiences. Qiu Junhao from the School of Mechanical and Electrical Engineering spoke about daily life in Vietnam and his experience of cultural adaptation; Shi Qi from the School of Automotive Engineering introduced his professional studies and hands-on training during the visit to Vietnam; Tian Junyuan from the School of Electronic Information Engineering shared his insights and reflections gained from participating in innovation and entrepreneurship exchanges; He Wanning recounted vivid stories and cultural encounters from extracurricular interactions; and Mo Xinyan from the School of Finance and Logistics Management focused on ethnic cultural exchanges, elaborating on her new understanding of cross-cultural communication.

During the interactive exchange session, students actively raised questions regarding the selection criteria and application procedures for international exchange programs. Wu Zhaohui provided a detailed introduction to the programs and encouraged students to lay a solid academic foundation from their freshman year onward, so as to seize future opportunities to "go global" and broaden their horizons.

At the conclusion of the event, a special segment titled "Vietnamese Language Mini Class" was hosted by Nguyen Thi Huyen, a Vietnamese international student enrolled in the 2024 full-time undergraduate program in Modern Logistics Management at the university. She taught participants simple and practical Vietnamese daily expressions and conducted a fun quiz on Vietnamese culture and general knowledge. Through relaxed and engaging sharing and interaction, the event enabled students to gain a deeper appreciation of Vietnamese culture while also developing a clearer understanding of the university's international exchange programs.

This sharing session not only systematically summarized the outcomes of the university's student exchange activities in Vietnam, but also created a positive atmosphere for the continued advancement of future international exchange programs. Looking ahead, the university will further expand its international cooperation channels, supporting more students in stepping onto the global stage and achieving well-rounded development.
